STORYBOARDING, LAYOUT, THUMBNAIL STUDIES
Storyboarding is a rough draft form of working out placement of your drawings, notations, title information, swatch samples, etc. It can be rough, but can serve as an invaluable tool to help direct your overall finished work.
As your drawing skills improve, your layout comps and storyboarding will progress as well. Keep drawing, even as your computer skills improve. Sometimes you can use storyboarding to just work out vertical or horizontal orientations for your panels. Sometimes the presentation orientation is dictated and other times it is not.
Use Graphic Backgrounds to hold the viewer to your sheet/layout.
